Bryan Mbeumo has given Manchester United the green light to sign his former Brentford team-mate Ollie Watkins, hailing the striker as a “complete player.” Mbeumo completed his long-awaited move to United from Brentford last week in a deal that could reach £71million.
The Cameroonian, who is yet to make his pre-season debut in Red Devils colours, is expected to be involved in United’s clash with Everton this Sunday in Atlanta, Georgia. But despite also bolstering their frontline with the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves earlier this summer, United remain in the market for a striker. One such target is Aston Villa’s Watkins, who is reportedly open to an Old Trafford move. And now Mbeumo has encouraged his new club to sign the England star, having built up a connection on the pitch as Brentford team-mates during the 2019/20 season
