David Moyes’s Everton are set to hold fresh talks with Manchester City as they look to sign Jack Grealish ahead of next season.
According to Ben Jacobs, Everton are interested in acquiring the services of Jack Grealish as they look to reinforce their attack. They remain keen on his signature and are ready to once again knock on Manchester City’s door to hold fresh talks about a potential transfer.
Grealish came up the ranks at Aston Villa and made quite a name for himself while playing for their first team before joining City in the summer of 2021 in a record-breaking deal. While he was an integral part of their team in the initial years and played a massive part in their historic Champions League triumph, the English international has gone down the pecking order of late.
While he was involved in 32 matches last season and even contributed towards eight goals, Grealish was on the pitch for just over 1,500 minutes. The Englishman is not pleased with the lack of minutes, and it seems Pep Guardiola no longer counts on him.
He is pushing for a move away, and Manchester City are ready to sell with the player no longer a part of Guardiola’s plans. While multiple top clubs have been linked with the 29-year-old winger, nothing concrete has happened so far.
Everton step up their pursuit of Grealish
Everton are one of the clubs that are interested in signing Jack Grealish as Moyes seeks more quality in the final third. Despite Grealish’s struggles at Manchester City, the Toffees’ boss is quite confident that he could have a massive impact on his team.
Everton retain interest in the English international, and they are set for fresh talks with Manchester City. While Everton are ready to hold further talks about a move this summer, it won’t be that straightforward as the Manchester-based giants want a permanent departure, while the Toffees insist on a loan deal.
They are unlikely to consider a permanent transfer unless Grealish is willing to take a massive pay cut, given he earns enormous wages at City. With the World Cup coming up in 12 months’ time, a move to the Merseyside club could actually do wonders for the 29-year-old as he could be an undisputed starter for them on the left.
