Everton have officially announced the signing of Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich – and their CEO Max Eberl has given an interesting reaction.
Everton have now made it three new signings this summer, plus Carlos Alcaraz turning his loan permanent.
Aznou was only linked with Everton for the first time around a week ago, so it is positive that the move has already been wrapped up.
It was a position that Everton really needed to address.
After losing Ashley Young, David Moyes only had Vitaliy Mykolenko to play at left-back.
But the Ukraine international now has some competition in the form of youngster Adam Aznou, although it may take him some time to challenge for a regular starting spot.
But Aznou arrives at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with real promise.
Bayern official Max Eberl admits ‘regret’ at seeing Adam Aznou join Everton

Eberl has offered his first words for Everton fans, and revealed that he actually decided really quickly to make the move after a chat with David Moyes.
Moyes admitted having difficulty getting targets to join Everton, but clearly his charm offensive was strong enough to convince Aznou.
It will take Aznou some time to settle in at Everton.
He is still only 19 years of age, and it can be tough for young talents to thrive initially, coming from clubs overseas.
But he’ll no doubt get great support, and hopefully showcase his talent as soon as possible.
And Aznou certainly appears to be a talent, because Bayern’s board member for sport Max Eberl doesn’t appear to be too happy about the Moroccan leaving, expressing ‘regret’.
In an official statement from Bayern, he said: “We regret that it wasn’t possible to continue working with Adam. Our aim is to focus even more on our young talents in future.
“This season, young players like the ones who participated in the Club World Cup will train regularly with the first team. In general, the door is open to anyone who gives their all every day to achieve our common goals to establish themselves permanently in the FC Bayern professional squad.”
Eberl had previously hailed Aznou, saying of the teenager: “We think very highly of Adam, he’s a huge talent.
“We’re glad that he’s arrived in the professional game and now played his first match. He has incredibly big potential.”

How much Adam Aznou has cost Everton
According to ESPN, Everton have signed Aznou for a fee in the region of £8 million.
It is a relatively modest fee for a player with serious potential, and hopefully in a few years the player will be worth a lot more than that.
Aznou has penned a four-year contract with the Toffees.
It is thought Bayern Munich attempted to negotiate a clause over Aznou that would see them match future bids from other clubs that Everton may accept.
That again shows the German giants are not overly comfortable with the fact that Aznou has left them.
