Chelsea Are Big Admirers Of This Aston Villa Ace: What Will He Bring To Stamford Bridge?

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, journalist Pete O’Rourke stated that Chelsea are big admirers of Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers. O’Rourke said, “We know he would be the dream signing for Chelsea if they were able to prise him away from Aston Villa.

“The Blues are big admirers of Rogers and see him as somebody who could add quality to their squad.

“They’ve been keeping tabs on his development for a long time and would love to bring him to Stamford Bridge this summer.

“I think the price tag will put off clubs, because they’re looking for in excess of £80million.

“Chelsea would have to be very creative in the market to strike a deal for Morgan Rogers.

“It’s a difficult deal to do for Chelsea and I expect him to remain at Villa Park this summer.

“Villa will be looking to add to their squad, not weaken it in the final stages of the window.”

Rogers’ Impressive Record In The Premier League Last Season

Rogers had a decent campaign with the Villans as he put in a string of productive displays for them in the final third. The English talent participated in 54 matches for the West Midlands club last season, scoring 14 times and picking up 15 assists in all competitions.

His current contract at Villa Park will run out in the summer of 2030. Thus, it won’t be easy for the Blues to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

What Will Rogers Bring To Chelsea?

Rogers is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with it out on the flanks. He can generate a lot of power with his shot attempts and has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third.

The English sensation has added plenty of goals and creativity to his game. Hence, we can expect Rogers to bring plenty of firepower to Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca’s attack. He is good enough to nail down a regular first-team spot at the West London club next season.

At 23, Rogers has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the Blues to pursue in this summer transfer window. Thus, Maresca should think about stepping up his efforts to land him this off-season. But he won’t come in cheap, and honestly, not a realistic one for us.
