Xavi Simons shares what’s happened at Manchester United that has made him ‘happy’

Manchester United have completed the signing of Benjamin Sesko, prompting reaction from a number of peers including Xavi Simons and Joshua Zirkzee.

The Red Devils have completed a hat-trick of high-profile attacking signings, with Benjamin Sesko joining Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo at Old Trafford this summer.

As TBR Football previously revealed, Man United’s plan was always to present Sesko at Old Trafford on Saturday ahead of their pre-season clash with Fiorentina.

Sesko joins from RB Leipzig, where he played alongside Xavi Simons, and he will be teaming up with Joshua Zirkzee at Old Trafford.

Manchester United’s announcement of Sesko’s signing came with a number of social media posts from both parties.

Sesko’s first social media post of the day was a farewell message to Leipzig, saying he is “forever grateful” for the opportunity given to him by the Bundesliga club.

Simons was among the many people who responded, posting four red heart emojis and writing “Happy 4 you brateeee” – seemingly a combination of “bro and mate”.

Sesko then posted a picture of himself signing the Man United contract, with a caption that alluded to the dream that is now coming true for him.

Zirkzee posted a reply in Arabic and German, “los gehts habibi”, which roughly translates to “let’s go bro”.

Ruben Amorim makes honest Benjamin Sesko claim

Man United manager Ruben Amorim, speaking before the Fiorentina game, explained why he’s so happy to have Sesko at Old Trafford.

He also claimed that Sesko still has a lot of room for improvement and joked that the striker works so hard that they would have to tell him to slow down.

“He has the characteristics that we needed,” said Amorim.

“He’s a player that, with all the information we have, we need to stop the guy from working! He’s not the opposite, so that is also important.

“He is really young, he’s good in the air, he’s good running the channels, he’s good on the ball. So I think he has a great potential.

“I think he can improve a lot. For sure he’s going to feel at home in our club. He’s the right character to be in this group.
