RAMESY PREFERS NEWCASTLE SWITCH AMID INTEREST FROM PL CLUBS
More on Newcastle’s pursuit of Ramsey.
Eddie Howe is said to hold mutual interest in the Aston Villa midfielder as Newcastle look to bolster their side, outside the noise currently surrounding Alexander Isak.
Ramsey is entering the final 24 months of his contract at Villa Park and may consider a renewal if an agreement can not be found with Newcastle, according to David Ornstein.
Other Premier League clubs retain interest, namely West Ham United, whose manager, Graham Potter, is said to be a fan of Ramsey’s, but Newcastle remain in pole position.

MAN UTD REBUFFED IN PLAYER-PLUS-CASH BID FOR BALEBA
Having already spent just shy of a quarter of a billion pounds on their attack, United look set to test Brighton’s resolve in pursuit of young Cameroonian phenom Carlos Baleba.
According to the Standard, The Red Devils have had a player-plus-cash deal featuring Toby Collyer rejected by Brighton, whilst Baleba has returned to training after recovering from a knee injury he picked up this summer.
Brighton are understood to be seeking a fee in excess of the £115m it took to pry Moises Caicedo from them last season.
