Manchester United tracking Harry Kane situation amid exit links

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur may look to sign 32-year-old English international Harry Kane from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Football Insider, Harry Kane is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing another striker in the summer transfer window if a market opportunity presents itself. So, the 32-year-old Bayern Munich mainstay has emerged as a target for them.

The Englishman is also a target for his former club Tottenham, with the North London club closely monitoring his situation at the Allianz Arena. Meanwhile, Kane has a release clause worth £56 million in his contract with Bayern Munich, which will become active in January.

Harry Kane and his Bayern Munich journey

Harry Kane has reinforced his status as one of the best players in the world since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in a big-money move in August 2023. The 32-year-old has also ended his trophy hoodoo, with Die Roten winning the Bundesliga title in the 2024/25 season.

The English striker has continued to be a goal machine in the last two years, amassing 85 strikes and 26 assists in nearly 100 appearances thus far for Bayern Munich. However, Kane’s long-term future at the Allianz Arena is reportedly uncertain, and the situation has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Premier League return on the horizon?

Harry Kane has been on Manchester United’s radar for a long time, and the Red Devils mulled over securing his services before they signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta. The continued interest may be surprising, but Kane is a market opportunity worth considering, even though the struggling Premier League giants have landed Benjamin Sesko.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, Dominic Solanke struggled in his debut season with the North London club, and Thomas Frank can do with an alternative to the English international. So, Kane is a viable target for Tottenham, with the Lilywhites and Manchester United closely monitoring his situation at Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Kane has a release clause worth £56 million in his contract with Bayern Munich, which will become active in January. It will be interesting to see if the 32-year-old Englishman returns to the Premier League by joining Manchester United or Tottenham anytime soon.
