Rossi targets Marquez once again over the contentious 2015 MotoGP rivalry.

In a career retrospective, Rossi reflects on his rivalry with Marquez and the controversial series of events that marred their 2015 campaigns.

MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi has once again pointed the finger at Marc Marquez over a bitter feud he believes cost him an eighth championship in the premier class.

Rossi narrowly missed out on the 2015 riders’ title, losing by just five points to Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo during a season marked by frequent clashes with Marquez both on and off the track.

The Italian accused the then-Honda rider of conspiring against him to support Lorenzo’s title bid, and their relationship has remained strained ever since.

Reflecting on his illustrious racing career on the MigBagol podcast, hosted by VR46 Academy coach and former Moto3 rider Andrea Migno, the 45-year-old indicated that he still bears wounds from one of the most controversial seasons in world championship history.

The conflict between the two riders flared as early as the third round of the year, with Marquez retiring from the Argentine GP after colliding with Rossi’s M1, allowing Rossi to win the race.

“It’s the worst thing that has ever happened to me on a sporting level,” Rossi said.

“The dispute with Marquez began in Argentina. He had chosen the medium rear tyre, while I had opted for the hard tyre. He got away, but I caught up with him.”
