Aston Villa are one of the sides who are showing an interest in signing Monaco striker Mika Biereth, according to a report from Caught Offside.
Biereth, described as ‘powerful’ by Breaking The Lines, recently moved to Ligue 1 and enjoyed an impressive spell for Monaco, scoring 13 goals in 19 appearances. The young striker previously played for Premier League side Arsenal, but departed after struggling to break into the north London side, and he’s shown since his departure that he’s capable of scoring at a high level.
Aston Villa could be in the market for a new striker in the summer transfer window after they failed to replace Jhon Duran in January. Ollie Watkins remains the only natural centre-forward option at the club, with Marcus Rashford returning to Manchester United following his loan spell at Villa Park during the 2024/2025 campaign.

According to a report from Caught Offside, Aston Villa are one of the sides who are showing an interest in signing Monaco striker Biereth in the summer transfer window. A host of other Premier League sides are also said to be keen, while Monaco could leave for around £40m, despite joining just six months ago in the January window.

Unai Emery clearly wants two strikers competing with each other, considering he regularly utilised Rashford as a centre-forward during his time at the club, with Watkins forced to watch from the bench. Biereth is a natural goalscorer, and at the age of 22, he’s yet to reach his full potential, meaning he could be a long-term replacement for the ageing Watkins.
Whether the signing of Biereth, who scored three hat-tricks last season, could see Watkins sold remains to be seen, but he certainly appears to be a player worth taking a gamble on if the finances are right.
