We’ve got big updates on three potential wingers and there’s also a major Jamie Vardy development
It’s been far from a quiet window at Rangers so far but you get the sense the most exciting stuff is yet to come at Ibrox.
There have been five in the door so far and at least that many are yet to be announced – provided unfancied fringe men like Rabbi Matondo, Jose Cifuentes and Ross McCausland are moved on before the close of play.
Russell Martin said after his opening friendly with Club Brugge that his squad is set to look very different when the competitive stuff starts against Panathinaikos in a couple of weeks.
And it seems like with every passing day, we’re getting a major clue into exactly what he meant by that.

Last night it was winger Djeidi Gassama who exploded onto the picture (more on him shortly). And the boss recently teased: “The ones we think will be coming into the building in the next week or two, we’ll be so pleased with them and we still need some help.”
There’s little new to report on Conor Coady and Nasser Djiga – as far as we understand it, both deals are motoring along nicely with the Wolves man set to be announced and Coady not too far away from following.
But further up the pitch, Record Sport has run the rule on the 6 burning updates coming out of Ibrox this morning.
Hamza Igamane
He’s the sale that could really spark an Ibrox eruption but it’s starting to seem like it won’t be straightforward.
The new Rangers owners are standing firm on their reported £15m valuation on the Moroccan and that may just be a little too hot to handle for Lille.
While it initially seemed as if the French giants were more than willing to spend big, reports overnight suggested talks have stalled and that while the player does want the move to Ligue 1, there’s still a significant gap in valuations over the 22-year-old.
Martin recently denied there had been any formal bid, so this one may drag on into the later stages of the window.
Djeidi Gassama
He’s the one that really has Rangers fans excited.
It appears close to a done deal for the electric Sheffield Wednesday winger who looks set to give Martin one of the wing additions he desperately wants.
It is understood the Light Blues have struck a deal with the player who is poised to pen a four-year deal once things are ironed out with his current club.
He scored eight goals in 47 appearances for the Owls in the Championship last season and a £2.5m fee looks a shrewd bit of business for a 21-year-old already comfortably proven in the second tier down south.
Samuel Edozie
A name well familiar to the Rangers fans, he was infamously close to a deal in the past which collapsed at the last minute.
That had Rangers fans joking then-Southampton boss Martin was due them another apology over Edozie – following his self-deprecating admission at the time Morgan Whittaker’s move fell through.
But various reports suggest he’s back on the table as a live option for Rangers having just returned from a productive loan spell with Anderlecht.
The former Man City youth product scored four and assisted six but now appears to have no future at St Mary’s and could be open to a move north.
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi
And sticking with the wingers, Crystal Palace wide man Rak-Sakyi has been heavily linked after his own impressive spell with Sheffield United last term.
But the latest on this one is it’s still some way away.
The main issue is that Palace value him at around £10m and would favour a sale rather than a potential loan.
The Scottish Sun say that talks are ‘proving problematic’ with Rangers so far unable to present acceptable terms over the 22-year-old.
It looks like another one that, if it does happen, it may be later in the window.
