‘Important’ Yoane Wissa to Newcastle update emerges as Liverpool chase Alexander Isak

Newcastle United need to get to work on signing some new attacking players.

Indeed, Alexander Isak could be on his way out of Newcastle, and it certainly won’t be easy to replace the Swedish striker.

However, Newcastle do have a few targets in mind.

Benjamin Sesko has been linked to the Magpies, while Yoane Wissa is a Newcastle target too.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Craig Hope has shared an update on Wissa, and he says that the player is seriously pushing for this move as of Tuesday morning.

Yoane Wissa really wants Newcastle move

Hope shared what he knows about Wissa and Newcastle and what he was told on Tuesday morning about the deal.

According to the journalist, Wissa is desperate for this deal to happen and he has picked Newcastle over the likes of Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle.

Of course, this comes alongside the news that Liverpool are courting Alexander Isak.

“Yoane Wissa I had an update on that this morning, I was trying to take a nap and I had a call on that,” Hope said.

“My latest information on that is that Wissa has communicated that he absolutely wants this deal to happen, and that’s important. Eddie Howe has said that transfers only happen when a player really wants it to. Wissa wants it to happen, he’s not going to play for Brentford again, he’s communicated that, he’s told them to find a solution, and this is the move he wants, not Villa, not Forest, not Tottenham, Newcastle.”

Yoane Wissa compared to Benjamin Sesko

Newcastle are in for both Yoane Wissa and Benjamin Sesko, and there’s every chance that both players join this summer.

If the Magpies end up with both strikers, Eddie Howe will have something of a dilemma to face as he will have to decide which player will be a starter.

Sesko may be the more glamorous name, but the stats suggest Wissa is the better player.

Yoane Wissa Benjamin Sesko
35 Games 33
19 Goals 13
4 Assists 5

Wissa outscored Sesko last season and at a higher level – the Premier League compared to the Bundesliga, so he’d have every right to argue that he should be the Magpies’ starting number nine.

It will be interesting to see what Eddie Howe decides to do here, particularly if Isak does leave to join Liverpool.
