Ipswich Town are eyeing up an instant return to the Premier League this season.
Tractor Boys fans are not worried about relegation back to the Championship, but the pressure is now on Kieran McKenna to get his side fighting at the top of the division in 2025/26.
Sam Morsy is set to join Kuwait SC, although Derby County were interested in the midfielder, and now bringing in new faces is vital for the Suffolk outfit.
Liam Delap’s £30m move to Chelsea has been the story of the summer coming out of Portman Road, but bubbling under the surface is a link to Ashley Young – yet he may not be the only member of the family playing in blue in the new season.

Tyler Young trains with Ipswich Town’s U21s
Tyler Young rose to prominence last season while at Peterborough United, with the Posh facing Everton in the FA Cup third round in January, although he did not get onto the pitch.

Nevertheless, he was named in the squad for that game against his father, Ashley, with Darren Ferguson denying the two an incredible moment at Goodison Park.
Now, according to the East Anglian Daily Times, he is on trial at Ipswich, with his dad, the ex-Manchester United full-back, watching on in a 2-1 win against Needham Market.
He has featured for the Tractor Boys throughout the summer, but with Ashley Young also linked with a move to Portman Road, there is a chance for an extraordinary piece of history to be made in 2025/26.
Ashley Young and Tyler Young have the chance to play in the same team
Father and son duos playing together are rare in football, and since the Championship was rebranded in 2004, no pair has played together for the same team.
This could change soon though if Tyler continues to impress in the U21s at Ipswich, while the Tractor Boys are keen on his 40-year-old dad.
Watford have also shown an interest in Ashley Young, but as per the Watford Observer, the Hornets are out of the running due to the veteran player’s wage demands and this potentially leaves McKenna a clear run at making history.
