
Leeds are close to sealing a surprise summer move for Inter Milan forward Mehdi Taremi, Italian publication Corriere dello Sport has claimed (via SportWitness).
The Championship winners are on the lookout for a new number nine ahead of their Premier League return and have reportedly made a breakthrough in efforts to sign the 33-year-old veteran.
Taremi is believed to be keen on a move to the Premier League, and Leeds are said to have beaten competition from other English clubs for his signature, with a move to Elland Road now seemingly ‘close’ for the Iran international.
Taremi, who joined Inter from Porto in the summer of 2024, is under contract until June 2027 with the Serie A giants.

Taremi would bring proven top-flight experience to Elland Road this summer, having plied his trade in the top tiers of Italian and Portuguese football for the past six seasons.
The ‘incredible’ Iranian striker scored three goals and provided nine assists in 43 appearances for Inter last season, with four of those goal contributions coming in the Champions League.
Leeds have been one of the busiest Premier League clubs this summer, welcoming seven new signings, including striker Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer from Wolfsburg.
Farke’s side have also struck deals for defenders Sebastiaan Bornauw and Jaka Bijol, while goalkeeper Lucas Perri became the latest arrival last month.
