It’s understood that Leeds have now made an official offer to Feyenoord in an effort to sign Igor Paixao.
LeedsLive understands that United have offered more than €30 million (£26.2m) as they look to sign the winger this summer.
Ligue 1 outfit Marseille have also been linked with a move for Paixao this summer, who was mentioned as a potential target for Premier League champions Liverpool earlier in the year.
Leeds are thought to still have confidence they can agree a deal to sign Paixao after weeks of speculation about the forward’s future.
Douglas Luiz transfer green light
Leeds have been given encouragement that they could strike a deal to sign Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz.
Fabrizio Romano has reported on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Luiz is determined to complete a transfer that would see him join a Premier League club this summer.
Luiz was linked with Leeds earlier in the summer, and now looks set to leave Juve just a year after joining the Serie A giants.
Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport have also reported that Luiz is valued at around €40 million (£35m) by Juventus this summer.
