Leicester City attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss has been considered by Leeds United, but he is not an active target, as per The Athletic.

A regular theme this summer has been transfer interest in key assets at the King Power Stadium, and few players have attracted attention quite like Bilal El Khannouss. Now, the Moroccan ace has been linked with another potential suitor.

According to a fresh report from The Athletic, the Leicester City star has been considered by Premier League new boys Leeds United as a potential transfer target.

The Whites are in the market for a new number 10 after their Championship title triumph, and El Khannouss has been eyed. But, at this moment in time, the Yorkshire giants are not viewing the LCFC ace as an ‘active target’.

As Leeds United start to turn their focus to more attacking targets though, it could be that that changes.

Bilal El Khannouss transfer interest refuses to go away

Leicester City don’t have many sellable assets on their books, so while some may want to move on after relegation, they might not necessarily be able to offer the financial gains hoped.

That can not be said for El Khannouss though. He was one of few shining lights in the Premier League, impressing as an attacking midfielder or left-winger for the Foxes.

Competition Games Goals Assists
Premier League 32 2 3
FA Cup 2 0 2
EFL Cup 2 1 0

The 21-year-old struggled to produce significant output in terms of goals and assists given how LCFC struggled, but his underlying numbers were promising. His tally of 57 accurate long balls ranked him in the league’s top 5%, and his dribble success rate of 59.6% was better than 90% of the Premier League (stats via FotMob).
