A man has been arrested after a body was found at a property in Everton.
Police were called to Thirlmere Road at around 9.20am on Tuesday following reports that the body of a man had been found at an address in the area.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened and to formally identify the man but his death is currently being treated by detectives as unexplained.
As part of initial inquiries, a 60-year-old man from Everton has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He is currently in police custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher said: “We are in the very early stages of our investigation and are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
“We are determined to find out what happened and would appeal to anyone who has any information to please get in touch.
“An investigation is ongoing and officers remain in the area to carry out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.”
