Newcastle United have shown an interest in Juventus’ Nicolò Savona as a potential replacement for Tino Livramento.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who mention Newcastle United today as part of a piece looking at potential outgoings for Juventus.
They explain that while the focus is currently on Douglas Luiz, Timothy Weah and Alberto Costa, Savona is another who could depart in the coming weeks.
Newcastle United continue to monitor the 22-year-old this summer, and the belief is that he could become a target in the even of a major transfer for Tino Livramento.
He’s been linked with a move away from St James Park this summer after establishing himself last season, with Manchester City having been named as suitors for months. It appears Newcastle are aware he could depart and are making plans in case it happens.
Savona is a product of Juventus’ youth system and has made 40 appearances in the first team since being handed his Serie A debut by Thiago Motta in August last year.
It should be noted that he is currently suffering from an ankle injury that is expected to keep him out until September, so that could delay a move if Newcastle United do step up their interest.
