Though officially replaced upon Stephan’s arrival, Cifuentes had already been placed on gardening leave amid reports of a fallout with CEO Christian Nourry. Both sides have since moved on, with the Spaniard now at the helm of Leicester City.

In the meantime, the Hoops have turned their attention to shaping the squad around Stephan’s vision, prompting some key decisions about the current playing group. One name that appears to be out of Stephan’s immediate plans is forward Alfie Lloyd.
Reporting on X, Darren Witcoop has confirmed that Lloyd has been offered out by QPR this summer. He understands that the forward has been offered to many League One clubs, including Bolton Wanderers.
Bolton Wanderers are in the market for a striker this summer, with Johnny Kenny their main target. Charlton Athletic forward Gassan Ahadme is also on Bolton’s radar.
Another side interested in Lloyd is Leyton Orient. QPR have a good relationship with Orient after the success of Charlie Kelman’s loan last season, who has joined Charlton Athletic for around £5m including addons.
First team football needed for Lloyd
Alfie Lloyd is coming into a crucial part of his career at 22 years old. The QPR man has very little experience of his first-team football at any level.
He was given plenty of opportunities last season with QPR, but some consistent football would be more beneficial. That means it is no surprise that League One clubs are being offered Lloyd.
Leyton Orient will be in a good place to secure his services on loan after Kelman’s spell last year. However, Bolton Wanderers are always a good place for young players and look to be a club on the up once again.
