The Reds have agreed personal terms with the young French bagsman, something that the North East side failed to do, due to the Reds’ late preference to sign him – though the Magpies would seemingly have been able to meet his demands on both the length and financial side of any contract.
As a result, the financial promise is still there to bring a new striker to St. James’ Park – and that has seen them switch their focus from Ekitike to Osimhen, who has so far failed to find a new club away from Napoli.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all seen their interest well-publicised in recent times, whilst a report by Fabrizio Romano on Thursday stated that Galatasaray were at the ‘final stage’ of a deal for his services after positive talks.
