Jack Grealish has become Everton’s latest signing, with one claim made about David Moyes amid the transfer now refuted.
After much improvement under the Scotsman in the second half of last season, Everton are looking to step up their game even more in the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The Toffees have strengthened this summer, recently securing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea.
The Englishman’s arrival has been followed by Everton landing Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City with the option to buy.
Paul Merson has shared his prediction about Grealish following the transfer being confirmed, while Simon Jordan made a claim about manager David Moyes, which has now been quashed by Sam Allardyce.
Allardyce was asked how excited Everton fans should be about the arrival of Grealish.
When answering, he said Simon Jordan’s comments on Moyes not liking flair players are ‘so wrong’.
He stated: “Very, very excited indeed, and Simon [Jordan] was saying on [the] radio yesterday he shouldn’t be going to Moyes because Moyes doesn’t like flair players. Simon, you’re so wrong it’s unbelievable. You don’t know Moyes, mate, I do. So anyway, West Ham have suffered since he left as well haven’t they?
“Everton did great last year, didn’t they, when he took over. So your opinion sometimes is rather harsh and unfair, mate.
“But Moyes will do a great job with Jack. Jack will flourish under Moyes. Everton will love him; he’ll go out there and play football.”
Sam Allardyce message to Jack Grealish
Grealish joined Manchester City from Aston Villa in 2021 and has played 157 games for the Sky Blues in all competitions.
But he struggled for consistent game time last term, playing just 715 minutes of Premier League football across 20 appearances.
Now, Allardyce has sent a message to Grealish about his Man City future, urging him to make sure that Everton sign him permanently as quickly as possible.
He continued: “And apparently, a bit of credit, I think he’s dropped his wages slightly, if I believe that the news is right.
“But Jack just wants to play football and certainly getting away from Man City as quickly as possible, as much as I like Pep. But to Jack, get out of there as quick as you can because otherwise your career will go backwards.
“So go play football, go enjoy it, make Everton want you full-time as quick as possible.”
