Sunderland sign Jamie Finn

Sunderland AFC is pleased to announce the signing of Jamie Finn.

The 27-year-old joins on a one-year deal after leaving Birmingham City at the end of her contract.

Finn joined the Blues in August 2021, playing over 50 times for the Club before suffering an ACL injury, keeping her out for 353 days, returning in February this year.

Before moving to the Midlands, the Dublin-born player played in the Irish leagues, most notably with Shelbourne FC, and in between, played college football in America with Florida Gulf Coast Eagles.

The versatile midfielder is also a Republic of Ireland international, playing 16 times for the senior Irish team, as well as 22 games across their youth teams.

On joining the Club, Finn said: “I had great conversations with Mel and Steph about where the team want to go. It’s such a historic club so I’m really happy to have signed and I’m excited to get going.”

Head Coach Mel Reay added: “”We are delighted to welcome Jamie to Sunderland. She is a player who matches our ambitions for what we want to achieve, and we believe that her versatility and quality will be a real asset to the squad for the upcoming season.”
