Tottenham Hotspur have already bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham and have also secured Mathys Tel on a permanent deal in this summer transfer window.
The Thomas Frank-managed club remain interested in Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White, although talks between the clubs have stalled after Spurs triggered the £60m release clause in his contract. However, that has not stopped them from pursuing other attacking targets, as Thomas Frank looks to sign an upgrade on the injury-prone Richarlison.
Richarlison has failed to prove his fitness over the last two seasons in North London, reducing his game time on the pitch in the process. The previous campaign was no different as the 28-year-old struggled to provide proper cover and competition for club-record signing Dominic Solanke. Keeping in mind that Tottenham will be competing in the Champions League next term, signing a striker as a back-up to Solanke is an absolute necessity.

Tottenham establish contact with Rennes for Arnaud Kalimuendo
Earlier this transfer window, Tottenham were linked with a move for Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo. The player has emerged on the Lilywhites’ radar after a prolific campaign with Rennes, which yielded 18 goals and four assists across all competitions.
Recent reports claim Spurs have established contact with the French club over a deal for their star striker. However, they could face competition from Villarreal, who are looking to replace the recently departed Thierno Barry.
Now, according to a report from French outlet RMC Sport, Rennes would be open to selling Arnaud Kalimuendo for a fee of between £26m-30m amid interest from Spurs and Villarreal. As he has a contract until 2027, the Ligue 1 outfit are contemplating cashing in to ensure they get the best value for the 23-year-old.
Spurs must push for the Rennes striker after cooling interest in Yoane Wissa
Tottenham have been strongly linked with Brentford forward Yoane Wissa ever since Thomas Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou at the club’s helm. The Congolese lit up the Premier League last season, scoring 19 league goals and forming a deadly partnership with Bryan Mbeumo up front for the Bees.
But, it is Newcastle United who have made the first move to sign Wissa. They saw an opening bid of £25 million swiftly rejected but remain in talks with Brentford over a possible deal this summer. As Newcastle are looking to make an improved bid, it would make sense for Tottenham to cool their interest in Wissa and focus on signing Kalimuendo.
In Kalimuendo, Frank will not get a Premier League proven commodity, but just like Wissa, he could arrive from France and have a similar impact in England if groomed and backed well. Valued between £26m-30m, Levy must step up his efforts to bring the Frenchman to N17.
