Tottenham ‘Hold Talks’ to Sign ‘World-Class’ Star This Week, He Wants PL Move

Tottenham Hotspur have held fresh talks with Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha this week about a deal to bring him back to the Premier League, according to TBR Football.

The Lilywhites are beginning to step up their transfer window activity for new manager Thomas Frank after completing a deal to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham, while they have also moved to sign Morgan Gibbs-White, although they have run into problems with Nottingham Forest.

But the club are now turning their attention to other targets as they look to prepare for a Champions League and Premier League campaign, and talks are ongoing for the Portugal international.

Player wants to return to London

Palhinha, who joined Bayern for £47m just last summer from Fulham, struggled to establish himself in Vincent Kompany’s squad as a regular and is now being eyed by several clubs as a potential transfer target.

Bayern Munich are open to allowing him to leave the Allianz Arena, and Tottenham have held talks with the player’s camp to find out of he would be interested in a move to north London.

Despite having interest from Inter Milan, it’s believed that the Portugal international, who has been described as “world-class”, would be more open to returning to London and the Premier League if he is to leave the Bundesliga champions.
