‘Useless’ Nottingham Forest player chosen to replace new Leeds United signing, £9m deal agreed

Nottingham Forest have a host of players who they would still like to offload this summer, with the club working tirelessly to do more business.

Anthony Elanga has been sold to Newcastle, with Ramon Sosa and Danilo also leaving the club, along with Alex Moreno, who has returned to Aston Villa following his loan spell.

Forest have signed Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha from Botafogo, and the club will be doing overtime in order to bring more new recruits to Trentside.

There are still a few players hanging on to their time at Forest, however, and now another surplus player could be heading through the City Ground exit.

Nottingham Forest player Matt Turner set for Lyon

This has been an ongoing situation for a little while and now it looks to be drawing to a close in favour of Forest.

According to Inner News Sport, Turner is going to sign for Lyon to replace Lucas Perri, who has signed for Leeds United this weekend.

Turner failed to impress Nuno Espirito Santo and was quickly dropped from the team when he arrived in December 2023, with Matz Sels taking his place after signing in the January 2024 transfer window.

Turner is set to complete a transfer to Lyon in a deal worth around £9 million, with Forest recouping most of what they paid for the goalkeeper.
