Xavi Simons may suffer an early blow and reconsider his preferred shirt number if he makes a move to Chelsea, as his favoured numbers are already taken. The Blues have rekindled their interest in the Dutch player, nearly 10 years after they first spotted him at the age of 12.
The top brass at Stamford Bridge are currently in talks with his agents about a potential transfer, as Enzo Maresca looks to revamp his attacking line-up this summer. The renewed interest in the Dutchman comes hot on the heels of Noni Madueke’s £52million move to Arsenal. However, if Chelsea manage to outbid rivals like the Gunners for Simons’ signature, there is one thing they won’t be able to offer him.
